I'm a huge fan of home & personal items designed by architects. Frank Gehry designed jewelry for Tiffany's, Alvar Aalto made the wave vases for Iittala & Zaha Hadid made these limited edition coffee sets: http://www.alessi.com/catalogo/oggetto//tray/1627/2507/. Hadid is an amazing architect, the first woman to win the Pritzker (the world's most prestigious architecture prize). Since I couldn't possibly afford the coffee set, I'll just drool over the 'crevasse' vases she designed for Alessi: http://www.unicahome.com/p19524/alessi/crevasse-vase-by-zaha-hadid.html. I love it when vases can also act as sculptural centerpieces and interact with the space through reflective surfaces. Maybe one day, someone will gift me this nice little present, but for now I'm content looking at the photos. :)
